The Frick Environmental Center (FEC) in Pittsburgh opened in September 2016 as the world’s first free and open-to-the-public Living Building Challenge facility after a multi-year design and construction process.  The successful realization of this venture is attributed largely to the early foundations of communication, collaboration, and education forged between the owner/client, design, and construction team.  Join key individuals of the FEC team to understand the transformative process required to balance rigorous project parameters – including public visioning and budget & schedule constraints – with ambitious design and sustainability goals, in the design, construction, and operation of a successful Living Building Challenge project.
