The Yale Science Building, which is slated for completion in late 2019, is a multidisciplinary teaching and research facility that will create a community for scientists and promote faculty/student interaction and collaboration. Prefabrication is being employed for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing assemblies, and even with construction ongoing, tangible lessons have been learned … lessons applicable to practically any facility type. See and hear more from Yale University and the project team about prefabrication benefits and best practices; the critical need for early design planning and trade contractor involvement; and considerations of offsite prefabrication.
