Many Owners start with good intentions to build a green building, yet often fail to meet their own high expectations … or fail to define those expectations to begin with.  Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has built some of the greenest buildings in the world, and has learned to use the various green rating systems to clearly define expectations – a concept that’s scalable for Owners on practically any project type or size.  The Phipps team will review (4) leading standards for green buildings, landscapes, and human health, then illustrate how to use those standards to define expectations & goals for a project before hiring a design team.  The session will include an interactive exercise to help project owners define and prioritize institutional values and learn how to translate those into the appropriate certification system for their unique projects.
