Explore the real and perceived advantages and disadvantages of three project delivery methods (PDMs) – Design-Bid-Build, CM At-Risk, and Design-Build – with a panel of experts familiar with all three. For Owners who enjoy the luxury of choice, how and why do they choose to employ a given PDM one project, then switch to another PDM on a different project? How does the choice of PDM potentially reveal things about the project of interest to potential service providers?

JESSICA BAKER

Director of Construction

In her current role, she is responsible for overseeing multiple multifamily construction projects and supporting associated pre-construction activities. To that end, Mrs. Baker’s recent efforts have included implementing a company-wide Business Intelligence platform for all company projects.

A native of Miami, Florida, Mrs. Baker graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy. Following graduation, she served eight years as a Naval Aviator.

Following her military service, and prior to joining Prometheus, Mrs. Baker held similar positions with Mill Creek Residential Trust and Trammell Crow Residential. During her career, she has accumulated fifteen years of experience in design development, budgeting, bidding, contracting, scheduling, and day to day management of construction activities and teams resulting in the completion of over 1,400 multifamily homes.

In addition to her undergraduate degree from Annapolis, Mrs. Baker holds a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Construction Management from the University of Southern California. She is also a Certified General Contractor (California).

Much of her career was in commercial prototype and program management, on projects throughout North America.

FAYE BODYKE

The Ohio State University

Faye Bodyke is the Director of Projects for the academic buildings on the Columbus campus as well as five branch campuses. She manages a staff of professionals including, Interior, Project and Construction Mangers. She is responsible for the procurement, contracts, budgets, changes, disputes, and construction oversight. She serves a major role in the relationship with architects, engineers, design builders, construction managers and other professional services. Faye has spent her entire career working in the Columbus area, with more than 25 years of construction experience from the perspective of both an owner and a contractor.

ROBERT RAMSEY

Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority

Robert Ramsey is the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer with the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA). He currently oversees the Development & Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Public Safety, Strategic Planning, and Environmental departments.

He joined MNAA in September 2003 and has been involved with numerous improvements at the Nashville International and John C. Tune airports, including the $1.4B BNA Vision which includes a lobby renovation, terminal expansion, new D Concourse, international arrivals facility and additional parking garages.

Prior to joining MNAA, he was with Atriax - Architects and Engineers, Corning Cable Systems, and with the US Air Force. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri at Rolla.
