Hard Hat Tour Series: Block 185 Tour Recap

On August 10, DPR Construction granted COAA-TX participants a tour of the 35-story, 590-foot-tall Green Water Block 185 project that is underway downtown represents the largest vertical high-rise concrete structure that DPR has ever built. This 35-floor office building by national developer Trammell Crow Company, in Austin, is already leased in full by Google and features a striking sail-like design courtesy of Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects. During the tour, participants learned about some of the unique features of the building, including a unique elevator feature, the detailed thought that went into preventing birds from colliding with the glass, as well as many other unique challenges, and facts about the project.
COAA-TX and their Emerging Professionals (EPs) have been hard at work developing opportunities for the Hard Hat Tours Series. These events offer a sneak peek inside some of the area's most prominent projects before they open to the public. You don't have to be an EP to participate — all are welcome!
