Professional Bio
Drew Furry, director of strategic facility initiatives, provides leadership for complex, high-impact facility and space initiatives at Purdue University. Responsibilities include advancing major institutional priorities in research space optimization, facility management professionalization, and long-term strategic planning.
In addition, Furry continues to manage construction projects on the Purdue West Lafayette campus. Primary responsibilities include onboarding designers and contractors, developing the project budget and schedule, leading the design process and ultimately delivering the project on time and under budget to the client. He has expertise in the Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc or CMAR) project delivery model and managed the first project of its kind in the state of Indiana.
With more than 13 years dedicated to Purdue University, Furry’s impact has involved transformative projects totaling over $0.6 billion for Student Life, College of Engineering, College of Science, Athletics and other campus clients. More than $77M in athletic renovations for Ross-Ade Stadium, Mackey Arena locker rooms and the Pete Dye golf course clubhouse are just a few of the major capital projects completed under Furry’s oversight in recent years. Currently, Furry is leading the Daniels School of Business new building with a project budget of $168M.
Furry earned a bachelor’s degree from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in civil engineering and spent his early career working for a large construction management firm in Indianapolis, Indiana. There he managed projects in healthcare, interiors and the new Indianapolis International Airport. Furry is a licensed civil engineer and completed a master’s degree in business administration from Purdue Global.
