Professional Bio
Jason is the Director of Energy Management and a Certified Energy Manager who focuses on healthcare, science & technology, government and education projects. He is an instrumental member of EwingCole’s sustainability group, Thrive@EC, where he is a leader in the design of the firm’s most sustainable and energy efficient projects, including several net-zero energy designs. Most notably, he facilitated a multi-disciplinary team in the role of net-zero coordinator for the firm’s largest net-zero energy design project. He enjoys working directly with clients to select optimal systems and has extensive experience in the design of efficient campus infrastructure systems including central chiller plants, steam plants, and thermal storage systems.
Speaker Bio
Jason Fierko is a Principal, mechanical engineer, and energy modeler at EwingCole, a national leader in architecture, engineering, interior design, planning and sustainable design. With twenty years of experience, he specializes in energy efficient and zero-net energy designs. He received his undergraduate degree in Architectural Engineering and Master of Engineering Management from Drexel University. He is an instrumental participant in EwingCole's sustainability group and has been involved with several LEED Certified and zero-net energy projects. He speaks regularly on LEED certification, energy modeling, zero net energy and building energy use reduction strategies. He recently presented “Urban Net Zero – It is Possible at Unisphere” at the 2019 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in Atlanta, GA and “Challenges of Net Zero Design in an Urban Environment” at the 2018 World Energy Engineering Congress in Charlotte, NC. He works with integrated architecture, engineering, lighting, and interior design project teams.
