Three-Ring Circus: The Real Story Behind the Ringling Restoration
Circus World is a Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS) cultural resource that includes the original Winter Headquarters buildings of the Ringling Brothers Circus (1884-1918) known as Ringlingville. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated National Historic Landmark. This is a unique site, representing the achievements and success of the brothers and serving as a record of the great American circus. Through the support of the Save America’s Treasures Grant program and State of Wisconsin funding, WHS has been executing several restoration projects to bring the site back to its 1915 period of significance. This event will include a private tour with the architects and state facility managers to explore the recently constructed Ringing Brothers Office Building, the under construction Wild Animal House #2, and the in-progress design project of the Baggage Horse Barn.
Lunch and up to 3.0 AIA-approved learning units included.
As part of the COAA Cares initiative, hear from representatives of the International Crane Foundation.
Join us after the workshop for a happy hour-ish at a TBD location.
