Wisconsin Chapter Becomes Official

Posted By: Howie S. Ferguson News,

The Construction Owners Association of America (COAA) is proud to announce the formation of its 11th chapter in Wisconsin! The COAA Board of Directors unanimously approved the formation at its January 2021 meeting.

The roots of COAA-WI stem from COAA’s last in-person national conference – November 2019 in Atlanta. Several Wisconsin-based Owners and Associates attended the event … loved what they saw, heard, and felt … and began discussing chapter formation with the COAA staff.

The impacts of COVID-19 in 2020 may have actually helped the effort by forcing virtual gatherings, and the in-formation chapter took advantage of this by hosting a summer workshop and an informal fall “coffee talk” to help spread the word and generate excitement.

The core group of Wisconsin volunteers who made this happen are diverse, energetic, and excited by the prospect of growing even stronger once in-person events become viable again. Led by the chapter’s first President and Vice-President – Jared Zurbuchen with Exact Sciences and Jason Hanson with the State of Wisconsin – the leadership team is poised to expand its reach beyond Madison and Milwaukee as the Wisconsin AEC industry becomes more aware of COAA and COAA-WI.

Welcome, Cheeseheads, to the COAA family!

Founded in 1994, the Construction Owners Association of America (COAA) is a national organization of and for facilities Owners, especially those “serial builders” who are continuously expanding or renovating their built environment. COAA’s primary mission is to educate Owners and facilitate their improvement of construction & renovation project delivery.

COAA members include both Owners (e.g., higher ed institutions, cities & counties, healthcare organizations, K-12 school districts, Federal agencies, etc.) and the various partners Owners work with on capital projects – design firms, CM/GC builders, commissioning agents, software vendors, etc.
