This lecture will include in-depth analyses of these sections of the LEED Reference Guide for Building Design and Construction (BD+C) rating system. Actual project examples from all named sections will be detailed to the class.

Learning Objectives

  1. Review the overall purpose and structure of the USGBC's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.
  2. Gain fundamental knowledge of the Energy & Atmosphere (EA) component of the LEED BD+C certification process.
  3. Gain fundamental knowledge of the Materials & Resources (MR) component of the LEED BD+C certification process.
  4. See/hear case study examples illustrating different approaches to the EA and MR components of the LEED BD+C certification process.
