Speaker Bio
Tom is a recognized dual subject matter expert including leadership of large and complex healthcare capital programs and Infrastructure. Secondly through Tom’s forensic practice and understanding of the key concepts behind struggling projects he can recognize opportunities to improve the performance of the owner’s design and construction department. Tom regularly consults with owners regarding performance enhancement and the improvement of consistent results of design and construction department projects. Tom fully understands the key concepts driving operations which lead to revenue producing capital investments. Tom has developed and practiced many key components of driving down program costs and shortening overall program durations. Tom has also developed a “Speed to Market” approach to faster program development leading to quicker revenue generated from capital deployment. Tom has been responsible for and actively involved with more than 200 major hospital expansions including more than 4 dozen Emergency departments, Critical Care Towers, Bed Towers, Greenfield hospitals, and others. Tom has provided services to many organizations in establishing and developing Design and Construction departments, operational improvements, processes, and controls. Tom has worked for many iconic organizations including HCA Healthcare, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Aecom, and presently the University of Miami where Tom is a faculty member for the Construction Management Master’s program.
