Join the Construction Owners Association of America Maryland/DC and Virginia chapters (COAA-MD/DC) for their spring workshop.

Attendees of events hosted at the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations are required to register online before the event and will be required to present official ID documentation beforehand to security personnel before entry.

9:30 AM - 10:00 AM Check-In Registration Upon arrival, you will undergo a mechanical screening, which may include passing through an x-ray machine or metal detector. Additionally, there may be a possibility of physical security screening. 
Please remember to bring along an official identification document such as a passport, U.S. driver’s license, or U.S. Government ID for verification purposes.   You will not be allowed to enter without an official identification document.
10:00 AM - 10:15 AM Welcome & Introductions Tracy Thomas, Managing Director of Construction & Security Management, Overseas Buildings Operations, and Howie Ferguson, Executive Director, COAA provide welcome remarks.
10:15 AM - 11:00 AM Department of State and OBO Overview A comprehensive review of the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO), covering program challenges and drivers, current initiatives, and future forecasts.

11:00 AM - 11:30 AM Overview of Procurement Process An in-depth examination of the procurement process.

11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Lunch Lunch provided by COAA, allowing attendees to network and engage in informal discussions.
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM OBO Presentation A panel discussion featuring experts from OBO covering various aspects of the topics presented earlier, providing insights, answering questions, and fostering interactive dialogue.
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM Owners Round Table A focused discussion on the challenges and opportunities faced by different agencies and organizations within the market, such as inflation, labor, and supply chain issues. Moderated by COAA, with distinguished guests from the Smithsonian, White House, Architect of the Capitol, Navy Yard, and others, sharing their perspectives and experiences.
