COAA Webinar: Future-proofing: What can you do to optimize academic space?
In today’s evolving landscape of higher education, how can institutions future-proof their buildings and campus spaces to better serve students? This webinar will explore how space utilization tools and data—combined with space needs analyses—can identify gaps between current facilities and future requirements. Attendees will learn the purpose of these analyses, the types of data needed to measure and assess utilization, tools that enhance information to optimize existing space assets and the evaluation process, and how to apply this to develop a strategic approach to space management.
- Define what a utilization analysis is and how it is used to understand what an institution needs now and the future. Consider alternative ways to new construction for solving a space problem.
- Identify what data is needed, including supplemental data options, for the most robust analysis.
- Demonstrate how an institution may use this information to optimize space use and for strategic decision making through the use of case studies.
- Recommend strategies to effect culture change through change management.
